Microfibre towels, cloths and mitts
- Rinse mitts and towels after each use to flush out grit.
- Machine wash warm (about 40 °C) with a mild detergent, separately from cotton, which sheds lint into the fibres.
- Do not use fabric softener: it clogs the fibres and stops them absorbing water.
- Air dry, or tumble dry on low heat. High heat can melt the fibre tips and make them scratchy.
- Keep separate cloths for paint, glass, wheels and interior. Colour-coding helps.
- If a towel is dropped on the ground, wash it before it touches paint again.
TPE and rubber mats and liners
- Take the mats out, shake off loose dirt, then rinse with water.
- A soft brush and a little mild soap will lift stubborn dirt. Rinse well.
- Let mats dry fully before putting them back, and make sure they sit flat and clear of the pedals.
- Avoid silicone-based shine products on mats: they make the surface slippery.
Carpet mats
- Vacuum regularly. A stiff carpet brush used first lifts grit and pet hair.
- Spot clean with mild soap and water, then let the mat dry fully.
Faux leather (PU) covers and organisers
- Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Dry with a clean cloth.
- Avoid solvents and strong cleaners, which can crack the surface.
- Keep out of long periods of direct sun when parked if possible.
Fabric covers and polyester organisers
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth, or hand wash cold where the product page says so.
- Line dry. Do not tumble dry or iron.
Memory foam cushions
- Remove the cover and hand wash it cold. Do not wash or soak the foam.
- Air the foam out of direct sunlight.
Brushes and plastic tools
- Rinse after use and let brushes dry with the bristles pointing down.
- Keep wheel brushes separate from brushes used on paint or interior trim.
- Store buckets and blades out of direct sun to keep plastics and silicone supple.
